The New Civic Center It's part of the "Isola Master Plan", one of the largest plans for the recovery of an unused areas in central Milan. The project has been inserted into the area’s new public programme and is located inside the  "Parco della Biblioteca degli Alberi" (by Petra Blaisse and Inside Outside). The aim was to made a build in direct connection with nature, open to the park and open to people.The building shape is inspired by nature and it is made with wood structure . Double traslucent skin, made by reciclable Polycarbonate is been used for the first level facade cladding.The facades on ground floor are characterized by a transparent coating coupled to a vertical texture of wooden rods, inspired by the natural position of irregularities taken from the trees in nature . The rods have both recall function to nature as well as sunscreen.
